What is Conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the name for the legal process of reassigning ownership between the seller and the buyer.

Conveyancing is always carried out by a solicitor or licensed conveyancer, and when your tender for a property has been accepted, the seller's estate agent will take the details of your solicitor so they can begin the conveyancing process.

Conveyancing is not a free service, and it's a good idea to get a number of quotes from different solicitors before deciding which firm to use. The procedure can be quite expensive, so we recommend you shop around. All you need to do is ring three or four solicitors for a quotation, or you can get online quotes over the Internet.
