Before you choose a Critical Illness Insurance policy, you should carefully read the schedule of illnesses covered by the policy as the list of insured illnesses can vary between insurance companies. The schedule will be included within the information pack which is sent with your application form.
The main critical illnesses will always be familiar to you:
- Stroke
- Cancer
- Heart attack
But there are lots more as you'll see below. As developments in medical knowledge continue apace, more conditions are included in the schedules - and sometimes deleted as improvements in medical science mean that more conditions can now treated successfully. (But once you have bought the policy the list of illnesses remains fixed.)
